The Iranian pavilion.
I stopped by St Marcs square on the way to the Peggy Guggenheim. The Basilica truly is a beautiful building. i wish i had had enough time to look n the inside. The call of art was way too strong.
Gondola central
this is just around the corner from the Peggy Guggenheim. She moved to venice to retire when she was 50. The gallery is the unfinished palace that she lived in for the last 30 years of her life. The works are mostly from her own personal collection and are mostly abstract and surrealist pieces. It was so amazing to see so many of the works of different artists from the same period in dialogue with each other. I'm jealous> why didn't I inherit squillions of dollars when my father drowned on the titanic? I could be having mad love affairs with the avant garde too!!!
